On February 19th, 2020, there was a music communication meeting held in Newcastle by Rhydian Lewis, Maz Lavender and their friends to provide a change for students to relax and know some new friends in a safe environment.
Maz said they started to held such an event four years ago, the reason is that they found people come to a new city would feel very lonely, they just want to create a space for students and young adults to plat music in a comfortable atmosphere, for people to get come along to unwind and relax. She also mentioned that music is the hobby of many students, this event helps them continue to love music even though they are not studying music.

This night, four groups of performers song different kinds of music with different musical instruments. Some of them has participated the activities held by Student Costa Acoustic Nights many times, some of them came here for the first time.
Rosan came here for the first and she brought five songs here, she said she was very excited singing on the stage and didn’t worry about her performance because she had performed for many times since a very young age, she was really enjoying it. Unlike the music she song tonight, she performs heavy metal music.

Rhydian said, “I love Jazz mostly, because it is gentle and the lyrics are often very romantic.” He emphasized that the music could make people closer, and young people need this stage to get ride of stress and sing themselves to the world.
He also played some music with his friends, and he is an electronic drums player which is very important to control the pace of the band.

At the end of the activity, they make everyone tied on the “lifeline” which express the thanks we have to our friends and parents. It is a traditional custom every time they get people together to enjoy music and share stories.
Maz said, music has the power to lift people up, from down to be a different human being.
